المحاليل الطبية توجد بالمستشفيات لغرضين
الاول
لتعويض النقص في الاملاح و السكر في جسم المريض حيث تعطى بالتسريب الوريدي البطئ لمدة يحددها الطبيب .. و تحسب بالمل لكل ساعه..
و اختيار المناسب منها للمريض بحسب حالته الصحيه ( ارتفاع الضغط ، ارتفاع نسبة السكر في الدم ، نقص الصوديوم ..حالات الجفاف الخ

الثاني

استعمالها كمذيب لأدويه أخرى كالبوتاسيوم كلوريد و بعض المضادات الحيويه كما تستعمل في التغذيه الوريدية الكامله بعد اضافة المكملات و العناصر الاخرى الازمه..
و هذه المذيبات ضروريه لمعظم أدويه الكيماوي و التي تستعمل بحجم معين و تركيز معين ولذلك يجب تواجدها بأحجام و تراكيز مختلفه لتلائم كميه المحلول المطلوب اذابه الدواء بها على مدار اليوم..و كذلك لتلائم الخواص الفيزيائيه للأدويه المختلفه.. يعني.. المحاليل توجد بعدة تراكيز ..
لان وجودها بالتراكيز المذكوره يعطي مساحه أكبر للطبيب و للصيدلي للتحكم بالحجم و التركيز

Types Of Fluids

Isotonic

A solution that exerts the same osmotic pressure as that found in the plasma

1-0.9% sodium chloride solution ( normal saline

2-Lactated Ringer solution

3-Blood components
a- Albumin 5%
b- Plasma

4-Dextrose 5% in Water D5W)





Hypotonic

A solution that exerts less osmotic pressure than that of blood plasma. Administration of this fluid generally causes dilution of plasma solute concentration and forces water movement into cells to reestablish intracellular and extracellular equilibrium: cell will then expand or swell

1- 0.45% Sodium Chloride solution (half-normal saline)

2- 0.33% Sodium Chloride solution (one-third normal saline)






Hypertonic

A solution that exerts a higher osmotic pressure than that of blood plasma. Administration of this fluid increases the solute concentration of the plasma, drawing water out of the cells and into the extracellular compartment to restore osmotic equilibrium; cells will then shrink

1- D5W in normal saline solution

2- D5W in half-normal saline solution ( only slightly hypertonic because dextrose is rapidly ****bolized and renders only
temporary osmotic pressure)

3- Dextrose 10% in Water

4- Dextrose 20% in Water

5- 3% or 5% sodium chloride solution

6- Hyperalimentation solutions

7- D5W in Lactated Ringers solution

8- Albumin 25%
